And for my last post in this rather active day I present you a Noise Fest that occurred in Slovenia not so long ago.
I also played there. :O
Oh how I shat bricks at the borders because I really had no idea how would I explain why exactly I'm carrying 20 kilos of distortion pedals and 4 meters of cables. Lucky for us the people at the border did not even check our bags har har.
The fest lasted for two days. The first one was reserved for home bands and projects and the second day was reserved for us, foreign dogs. Sadly due to my obligations I was not able to come the first days so I have no idea how it was but I'll provide the links of all the bands at the end of this post.
Asocial as usual me and Zmaj were just silent most of the time but we managed to have some interesting talks with some great people. We also got free drinks and Zmaj got drunk yarrr. And we got lost a bit in Ljubljana haha.
Anyway we recorded most of the show so you guys can check it out. The quality is not that great but it's fine; for a noise show anyway haha. I did some (poor) editing and also added some footage I took while we were in the train and something that was spinning. IT WAS SPINING SO I JUST HAD TO RECORD IT. Also the fog when we were going was fucking amazing.
Oh and I had a pikachu hat while I played.
Consumer Electronics was a power electronics project of Philip Best before he joined Whitehouse. This one of his older materials from 1982 recorded live at Nailsea School, 21.10.82. He left Whitehouse recently (or not so recently, but oh well) so I think he returned to this project because he released an album in 2007.

One of the latest releases from our long time friend Lacthrow. The whole album is just one track which is an remastered and lightly remixed version of the live cd 'the principles of defeat' from the *vocal era* in 2001, edited & mixed in a different track order as just one long continuous track this time around. Lots of microphony so if you don't enjoy such things you best avoid this release. Overall it's quite good. It lasts for about an hour or so.

If you enjoy C.C.C.C. you'll most likely enjoy this as well. Pretty much unknown band from Czech Republic (I guess?). There are just two long tracks and much like the C.C.C.C. the sound is very "stretched out" with lots of phasing (in second track) and stuff like that. Quite good.

This is "Invocation", the new free download from VAAAM 666, a minimalist drone/noise creator from the Netherlands. It consists of samples recorded with a headset and processed with a lot of effects, thus creating a pitch black atmosphere.

Animal Writes loves kittens, apparently. You should see the band's fabulous MySpace page: dancing kittens, cartoon kittens, and plenty of just plain ol' kittens. But one forgets kittens pretty damn fast in the local trio's presence (one that includes local noise touchstone James Squeaky). A cold, industrial sonic refuse of feedback squalls, scraping and screeching electronics knotted up in a schematic of a post-kitten apocalypse (allergic or not, that's still an ugly world). Sometimes it makes conventional sense (there's some ancient, tripped out Butthole Surfers trapped in this machine) with ragged stabs at rhythm, recognizable guitars and a human voice -- but mainly it shuffles and jerks its way through a junkyard scene of electrical perversion.
