Sensational & Kouhei Matsunaga - Sensational Meets Kouhei

>> Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Haha! I never thought I would see this but someone actually thought of mixing hip hop and noise! They did this while Sensational was on a Japan tour so one day he and Kouhei (who also has an interest in hip-hop music) jammed and made this album. I'm not very familiar with hip-hop so I can't really tell if this is good or not but nevertheless it's interesting so give it a chance. :O

i'm downloading as i comment but i believe that grime music (popular uk hiphop style) has some influence from noise. It's really apparent in the bass. And i know of only one more hiphop group called "food for animals" that would most probably please someone on this site.

more noise-hop exists than you'd perhaps think. Dälek are probably the most immediately obvious, either solo or in collaboration with veteran Krauts Faust; Food for Animals, like jon said; and arguably a panorama stretching from cLOUDDEAD/Anticon on one side to crunk on the other, with its antecedent in Public Enemy's Bomb Squad. thanks for upping this stuff, downloading now.

can't really hear any noise influence on grime, myself. surely the bass tones of that derive from dancehall and ragga via overdriven jungle/d'n'b and then on through garage, getting a bit more compressed with each step.
