The Cherry Point & Oscillating Innards - Corridors Of Blood

>> Friday, December 28, 2007

[no cover sorry]

An rare split CD which was limited to 45 copies released back in 2004. Cherry point has his usual wall of harsh noise put up and the Oscillating Innards seems to use loops on some vinyls or atleast that's what I recognise. Anyway, interesting stuff worth hearing.

1. The Cherry Point - Untitled (10:04)
2. Oscillating Innards - Untitled (9:55)

Merzbow - Happenings 1000 Years Time Ago

Signal The Meek Shall Inherit Nothing

Here is some new material I've been working on for the last couple of weeks. I'm pleased so far, but this is very much a work in progress. Any comments and criticisms are wholeheartedly accepted.

As you may guess from the title, this is different from Beyond The Falling Silence. No sparse space drones in this one.

I've been listening to Death In June for about five hours now. I had forgotten how much I liked them. Great stuff, especially Nada!.

Christine 23 Onna - Shiny Crystal Planet

Formed in 1993 as a duo by Yamazaki Maso and guitarist Toda Fusao from Angel'in Heavy Syrup, Christine 23 Onna is described by the band themselves as a "space mondo psychedelic group." The sound of Christine 23 Onna is very different to that of Masonna, Space Machine, or that of Angel'in Heavy Syrup. It is based around a fusion of the psychedelic phrases of accomplished guitarist and composer Fusao, and the spacey electronics of Yamazaki. While the music of Christine 23 Onna is experimental, at the same time there is something about its pop fashion sense that would make it the perfect colorful, acid soundtrack for trips both good and bad at some hip, astro-modernist, interior-designed go-go lounge - all shimmering crystals, glass beads, fluorescent plastic and shining metallic finishes. Unusual for any project involving Yamazaki, this one has groovy repeating beats and a clear sense of compositional structure.

Wolf Eyes

>> Friday, December 7, 2007

Here are some Wolf Eyes albums. One of my all-time fovorite noise groups. They are infinitely awesome. Download them. I will have more up soon. Fin.

"Although Wolf Eyes has certainly earned the respect of the noise-rock/noise/industrial/power-electronics community after years of touring and a web of self-released outings, the band's appeal to the indie-rock masses perplexes even the most prescient of music enthusiasts. Perhaps it's the cathartic violence of Wolf Eyes' live shows or the way the group pummels electronics, voices, and horns until they no longer resemble anything man made. Or perhaps it's simply that most people have been sheltered from the violent sputtering noise and thumping glitches that define tracks like "Stabbed in the Face" and "Black Vomit." Or maybe, it's the other 130 releases the group has self released through it's various cassette/lathe labels, baffling that of even the most devoted artists. Wolf Eyes hasn't exactly formulated a new genre with its hybrid of industrial noise and textural deconstructionist electronics, but it has given difficult music an important new context, one less rooted in goth trappings and more firmly rooted in punk."

Transmission 001 [30 SECONDS] 0:30

Transmission 003 [DRONE TRANSIENT] 3:10
Transmission 004 [VOID IMAGINED] 6:20
Transmission 005 [LOST] 5:19

I was invited here to post my own output, so here is this year's first. Noise, but more oriented toward drone and the space between sounds. I don't know how to describe it, but it is my first voyage into this "phase". The last two tracks are very minimalistic. Headphones are recommended.

This is the final release. All the mastering is done and everything  is finished.

This is the first recording I have done where all the production work was accomplished with the computer. I arranged all noises and other details using software.

Encoded from 24-bit masters to 320KB MP4.

Japanese Torture Comedy Hour

>> Tuesday, December 4, 2007

Japanese Torture Comedy Hour is a side project of grindcore god Scott Hull (Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Pig Destroyer, Anal Cunt). Hull has always described the project to be "a hybrid of noisecore and power-electronics", but I just don't really hear the noisecore influence. Nonetheless, JTCH creates some uncompromisingly abrasive power-electronics. Totally punishing harsh electronics. Really good stuff. This is both full lenghths and two splits.

Aodl - Cleavage Steamer and Whiskey Valentines

>> Saturday, December 1, 2007

Aodl is a young harsh noise act from America but it still managed to release a fair amount of albums (which I will be posting from now on). Very dedicated to harsh noise, no silent parts or anything just pure harsh noise and very well done. Here's two of his early albums:

Aodl - Cleavage Steamer

1. Coast Wail (9:09)

2. Griddle Tape Pulls The Body (9:19)

Aodl - Whiskey Valentines

1. Person Of Simple Form (8:40)

2. Marla Singer Hegemon (9:20)

3. Celeskitchin (4:00)

(Eh, this site is full of bugs and errors when it come to posting.)

Violent Onsen Geisha - The Midnight Gambler

Violent Onsen Geisha is a Japanese noise music group, distinctive among many noise acts for frequently displaying a bizarre, sarcastic, and mischievous sense of humor. The group is essentially the solo project of Nakahara Masaya, though early in the group's history Nakahara fabricated a story, for years related as fact in the music press in Japan, that the group had at one time had several other members who died. Such conceptual conceits are common in Nakahara's work and public persona. A typical Violent Onsen Geisha album may contain music done in more conventional musical styles such as disco and hip hop, field recordings, and appropriated or "found" music, in addition to (or even instead of) straight-ahead noise. Midnight Gambler is one of his newer works that was released in 1996.

Solmania - Trembling Tongues

>> Friday, November 30, 2007

Some more Solmania. This was released 2 years after his Psycledelic album and this is better in my opinion and far more advanced then his last.
1. Wish You Were Here (7:55)
2. Sister Distortion (4:18)
3. Pushpin Gum (11:10)
4. Erode Me (4:54)
5. Sunshine Overdoze (15:59)

Solmania - Psycledelic

>> Thursday, November 29, 2007

Solmania is a project of a guy called Masahiko Ohno. Famous for his home made contraptions and guitars. This is his second album and is fairly good. It's pretty much harsh all the time with screams and everything and an ocassional guitar riff comes by too. The last song is much calmer and far more dronienig and sometimes sounds like complete madness. Anyway, on to the songs.

1. Psycledelic (7:31)
2. Nitro Mary & High-Side Blues (4:56)
3. Polar Bola (21:29)

Sponge - Relation Between A Production Of Images And The Flesh In A State Of Consciousness

>> Wednesday, November 28, 2007

Spong was a supergroup that only released this vinyl and appeard on Tourney Into Pain compilation. It contained a nice amount of famous Japanese noise artists. It's an very unique type of noise but sadly it has only two tracks and those two tracks are very short if you count all the trouble you spent on finding this. A very small amount (approximately 10) of these records were packaged with an extra postcard and picture of a person having an IV inserted. These copies also have a knife inset and blood spattered on the cover which is pretty sick. I remember sawing those but can't remember on which site.

People that participated in this release were:
Jojo Hiroshige (Hijokaidan)
Junko Hiroshige (Hijokaidan)
Masami Akita (Merzbow)
Yamazaki Takushi (Masonna)

Fire In The Head - Meditate / Mutilate

>> Monday, November 26, 2007

I was very suprised when I first heard this album. After an amazing CD they put out in 2005 called "As The Nest Burns" they seems to change a course in their music. This pice has no harsh noise at all. It's actually mainly based on ambiental music but don't worry there is also a fair bit of noise in it too but it's just not the same band as it used to be. Still good though, definetly check it out.
1. Darkest Before Dawn (4:18)

Pedestrian Deposit - Fatale

So finaly some new stuff by me. Pedestrian Deposit was formed around year 2000 with early intentions of creating various layers of abstract and structured electronic sound, with no relation until mixed. But as things went on he changed his intentions in dense urban-noir noise mixing analog and digital sounds and process them if needed. I found his stuff by accident and I started listening it with low expectations but it turns out to be awesome stuff that is definetly worth listening!

Review From Terrorizer Magazine

There are certain definite things in life: the rising sun, rush hour crushes, insane radio and TV presenters and bad hollywood remakes of excellent Japanese horror films. You may also add to this list 'Turmeric' a new Merzbow boxset that's a bit noisy. Four CDs in a rather splendid embossed silver-on-white slipcase and a fifth disc (also the best) available as a limited edition from Blossoming Noise's website all contribute to the ever-growing catalog of this master craftsman. There's no denying that Masami Akita is anything short of genius when it comes to the creation and manipulation of noise and these five discs only strengthen the case. But surely he's getting bored of such compositions; he can create this sort of output standing on his head by now. Is it because he is a master of his art that it appears an easy task to create such bizarre works of cacophony? 'Turmeric' is exactly what you'd expect from Merzbow: hideous squealling feedback, low drones, sharp high end and the occasional repeating beat - still utterly hypnotic and brilliantly done. If it ain't broke...

Zmajevdah & Smetnja Split

>> Friday, November 16, 2007

So this is a split that me and my friend did. His part (Zmajevdah) is metal while my part (Smetnja) is noise. Each side has 4 tracks so that makes a total of 8 songs and the split lasts around 20 minutes. Limited to 20 copies. Also if you are wondering why is "YMCA" on the cover. No we are not gay, this is I guess, the name of our label that released the split. YMCA stands for "Young Men Causing Aids" which is a parody on the oh so popular song from Village People.

Bastard Noise - The Analysis Of Self-Destruction

>> Thursday, November 15, 2007

Well since the last Bastard Noise release I posted was downloaded alot I decided to find some more of their stuff. This release seems to be very popular I guess, atleast that's what the ratings say on various sites that I have been on. Released in 2000, this album contains 6 long tracks. It should give you alot of fun times! Enjoy!

Download from here.

C.C.C.C. - Amplified Crystal

No this is not the cover of the ablum. I didn't manage to find the cover of the album, sadly, so I took a screenshot from one of their live performances. Dosen't matter anyway right? Amplified Crystal is one of their 12'' vinyls and is limited to 500 copies if I'm not mistaken. Excelent C.C.C.C. stuff right here be sure to download it!

C.C.C.C. - Cosmic Coincidence Control Center

The C.C.C.C.! One of my favorite noise groups of all time featuring bondage-porn star Mayuko Hino which can't be any bad. This was their firs release on CD containing three tracks. First two tracks are rather short but nevertheless they are very well made! The last one goes for around 40 minutes.
