Prurient / Potassium Cyanide Dogbane Sentiment - Persistence

>> Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Most people might not know this, but I really like Prurient. Been following his work for a few years now, and I'm pretty sure I've got one of the larger collections of his material out there. This is one of those gems I'm really glad to finally be able to share. Far as I know, this will be the earliest work of his to be disseminated to the internet at large: it dates from 1998, before Hospital Productions in Providence, obviously well before Hospital in NYC. Let's just say if you're expecting harsh material like Body Language, Magnified Healing, or The History Of Aids, you'll be quite surprised by the earlier efforts of Mr. Fernow.

The B side is a live performance in Wisconsin by Potassium Cyanide Dogbane Sentiment, who I can find precious little information about otherwise besides this tape. It's great though!

Prurient side
A1: Wishes But What Noises
A2: Painting #1
A3: Anguish In A Silence Of Sorts (Warfield)
A4: Inside All These Things Inside
A5: Where Ends Meet (Warfield)
Potassium Cyanide Dogbane Sentiment side
B1: Photocopecho 500

Various Artists - Total Gape

Killer power electronics comp from a few years ago on Negation Is Freedom, limited to 200 copies. A side seemed to be dubbed a little bit lower than B, but I kept the levels identical for both just because. B side really cranks for this reason. Just turn up the A side a bit while listening. Breathing Problem + Ichorous tracks in particular really slay.

A1: Brutophilia - Destitute
A2: Storm & Stress - Beat To Fuck
A3: Bereft - Payback
A4: White Heterosexuals - Paramilitary Romanticism
A5: Crosse Humiliation - A Very Young Rider
A6: Burial Hex - Cunt Oracle
A7: Sharpwaist - Wasps In The Wall
A8: New Pledgemaster - Looking To Fuck
B1: Breathing Problem - War Wounds
B2: Craniopagus - Black & Gay Fantasy
B3: Moribund - Menstrual Fist
B4: Power Through Will - Revolution
B5: Ichorous - Breathing Under Earth
B6: Sewer Goddess - I Stalk II
B7: Body Collector - Corners Of Ache

V0 rip, like always.

Malben - Scenes from the tripping zone

>> Friday, April 15, 2011

I am a part of a 2 man group called Malben. we're active for a year or so and we try to experiment with many atmospheres as we can get. we usually play live and record so each show is different. generaly i can say we play some kind of meditative droney harsh noise with powerelectronics and tribal spoken words from time to time. we post our shit up here. we would appriciate it if you take a look over the pages (we post also solo stuff each one is doing) but i recomend you to give a try to this recording called "scenes from the triping zone" its a live show but the sound quality is good.

Whitewater Orgasm - Lust Year

So my project is called Whitewater Orgasm. It's harsh noise with some ambient elements and vocals from Finland. Sounds kinda like Masonna. This album can be bought from Sarutra's Music label, tho there was only 30 copies printed, but I really don't think they are going to sell out anytime soon

Random Body Electrocution - Demo with Japanese Tracktitles

I'm writing you this mail in purpose to ask you whether you would like to share the newly released demo of my "Harsh Noise Grind"- Project as I like to name it... (the collaboration-tape between Mortalized and Guilty Connector that you also have uploaded is one of the major influences.).

The project is called Random Body Electrocution and the demo was originally about to be released on Soundo Maso Records/ Kacketon Verlag but then, after I made a cover, mastered and edited all the stuff I saw no urgent reason to not just self-release it as a free to download contribution.

I'm not usually into this sort of thing but this sounds ok.

Abridged Pause Recordings

Abridged Pause Recordings introduces the two newest releases! Beyond the Dune Sea and Vision Éternel are now fully active on the Abridged Pause roster. We really hope you will take a bit of your time to check them out, because these bands have been hard at work lately, and they deserve new ears. That's why we would also appreciate any word-of-mouth you can do for the bands, and the label! Because without fans, the music industry would be nothing. Let's keep the indie scene alive! Vinyls should be coming on Abridged Pause this summer!

Beyond the Dune Sea - s/t debut album
APR4, March 9th, 2010

beyond the dune sea album cover

Beyond the Dune Sea’s debut full length is a brilliant album. And it was done in such a “post-musical” style as well. A series of live jams were recorded and the whole thing was put together in post-production style by Adam Kennedy. The entire album is flawless and could be your next album on repeat once you get started. This is not to be passed by in 2010.
01 Welcome to the Dunes
02 The Dune Sea
03 The Red Tide
04 Time is of the Essence
05 Save Game

Vision Éternel - Abondance de périls
APR3, March 9th, 2010

abondance de perils cover

“Abondance de périls” is the new ep by Vision Éternel. As it’s third release, the band has moved to a newer sound, but still keeping the composition it is known for. This splendid short play will be your soundtrack to late lonely nights, and will make you feel just like the artist was when writing these pieces. As usual for the band, it is a concept album. It is the third instalment in the post-phases of love. For the first time VE has worked with external artists (in the mastering and the artwork of the album) and it adds an entire new dimension to this beautiful masterpiece.

Snimoknok\Booby Mason

One-man noise unit started by Anton Gudkov in 2009 in Russia, Omsk. His first albums were released under the name “Snimoknok”. First album “Go Back Home To Your Toys” (Назад Домой К Своим Игрушкам) was much more a cut-up thing, a sound collage, a mix of sounds from different sessions. As motley as the cover-art of it. Then began noise. 99% of it is an analogue noise and is created with a help of vocal and some guitar pedals. All sounds were/is and will be created in his room. Being an artist, he designed all the covers of his works (except a couple of them). Anton did albums under different names: Snimoknok (analogue noise), Atomic Vomit Woman (digital noise), RKKA (some sort of idm) and H.I.R.O.S.H.I.M.A. Recordings – fake compilations, containing unreleased material, very different and unsuitable for albums. Last (!) work under “Snimoknok”-name was released with a help of RusZUD net label in 2010. Since the beginning of the year all recordings are signed as “Booby Mason” (name has nothing in common with masons; much more with boobies).

Toilets In Japan - Toilets In Japan

Hey, the cover looks really neat.

Toilets In Japan is a supersonic trio constructing distinctive and complex sound statements using improvised techniques in manipulating synth-driven sounds, loops, unconventional rhythms under the spell of contemporary DIY culture. The recordings draw influence from mass holiday travel packets, patterns of pedestrian interaction in metropolitan areas, baby-carrying supermarket wheels and factory farming practices. Their debut cd-r was self-released on March 2010.

My friend's project "Rest In Piss" and I made a split noise net release that we wouldn't mind having posted on your blogspot.

It's called "Only a Mother's Love..." My tracks sound like MIDI on crack while RxIxPx's tracks heavily incorporate the use of looped feedback and static.

Nebulae - Nebulae I - Into The Spaces Between

>> Thursday, April 7, 2011

My name is Christoph Belka and some time ago I created the Ambient/Noise
project Ulthar but after circa two years I was not really satisfied with
the direction which it took. So I decided to reinvent it and I gave it a
new name: Nebulæ. This new name also came with a new idea. I wanted to
create more cosmic and atmosperic music but still I liked the good old
noise.

My Debut is concipated as a C90 audio cassette but I am not interested
in financial profit from this release, so i will just give some copies
to friends and the rest of the world must live with this mp3 release.
everyone is able to make his own copy with a cassette recorder and a 90
minutes audio cassette.

It contains an A side and a B side. Both are total different from each
other. The A side creates more atmosphere and is the quiet part of this
tape. There is more drone and ambient at this side. The B side instead
is creating terror and noise and contains also some materials which I
already published as Ulthar. Also it contains some previously unreleased
songs.

To describe my sound I would use definitions like ambient, drone,
experimental, industrial, noise.

Moth in Flames - Ocean EP‏

It's basically noisy drone that reminded me of the sea as I was playing it, so I tried to develop
that. It's all improv with electronics and a microphone, and was recorded in
one take. If you like it, please let me know because I have a couple other things
around half an hour each. I try to vary it up with each take, so I have a bit
of Onkyo-inspired stuff, and some musique concrète. Anyway, thanks for the
listen, and hope to hear from you soon.

Hheva - Thousands Of Dead Wolves

"Hheva is a recent project of mine, based in Malta spurting out mainly Noise, Ambient, Power Electronics, Rhythmic Noise (occasionally), etc."

This release is based around mostly noisy ambient type of sounds, there  are some mellow mechanical rhythmic bits (such as pneumatic machinery type of stuff) but the overall sound is droney and gritty. Also, as it is deductable from both the name and the covers, it is an anti-fascist ep.

Graveyard Of Honor - Antique Corrosion

This first release by Graveyard Of Honor, "Antique Corrosion" is a compilation of sorts, as the material was recorded sporadically between 2006 and 2008.  The project reverently takes its name from the Kinji Fuksasaku film from 1975.

All work on these recordings was done in isolation and with minimal resources.

The material is bracketed into the "harsh noise" category.  The tracks vary in flavor and temperament, as the object was for each to have its own identity. Everything from low-end blasts and strangled vocals to metal clang, feedback, high-voltage shrieks, walls of crackling noise to damaged synth to bottom-of-the-barrel sludge can be found here.  Graveyard Of Honor is currently based in Brooklyn, New York City.

Aikichi Kuboyama - Two Untitled Tracks

Aikichi Kuboyama (name dedicated to Herbert Eimert's masterpiece "Epitaph Fur Aikichi Kuboyama") is a Harsh Noise solo project. Most of my things were improvised, but in this cd-r (named "Two Untitled Tracks") I started working with a laptop and discovering some really interesting sounds (despite the fact I still do some improvised noise). These two tracks I'm sending you are basically two sets of powerful walls mixed with loud basses and some electronic effects.

Dust Cult - Self Titled

I recorded the demo in July 2010 in more or less 3 days, and it's basically improvised noise made with a bass, a tape player, a mic and a distortion pedal recorded with my laptop and mixed with some samples from old 60s/70s songs. The whole concept beyond it was to make something both trippy and heavy, focusing on the alienation and paranoia of this society.

The concept is all based on a personal view of this world/society.

Subterrestrial

I have been creating experimental music on and off since the early 1990s, most frequently as The Violet Grind and Imperial Floral Assault Unit. After a very long hiatus, I have begun working again as Subterrestrial. As a project, Subterrestrial focuses mostly on dark ambient and noise with the occasional foray into 8-bit and chiptune. Subterrestrial is mostly inspired by hollow earth and subterranean themes. I have two new releases that I'd like to submit to Terror Noise Audio:

H-21

Subterrestrial's "H-21" is inspired by early 20th century exotic dancer Mata Hari, who was executed for treason in France during World War I after being accused of spying for Germany. Subterrestrial uses harsh, 8-bit noise and heavily aliased exotic rhythms to explore her often violent life and tragic death. It is believed that she was wrongly accused of her crime and made a scapegoat. H-21 was her alleged codename.

Camera Obscura
"Camera Obscura" features 79 minutes of psychedelic noisescapes generated through data bending techniques and Michael Oster's soft bent Reaktor Ensembles.
