Acid Attack & Fuck, The Retarded Girl - Split

Latest release from Mr. Anticque Records! I already posted something from Fuck, The Retarded girl before and the sound on this split is equally awesome as is on Abuse album, perhaps a bit better in terms of sound variations (but that's a matter of taste). Acid Attack is an very interesting mixture of noisy ambient which starts very calm and dreamy with sound clips from Jesus Camp which fitted very good. Later on it gradually progresses to much more harsh sound.

Tracklist:

01. Acid Attack Intro (2:29)
02. Acid Attack Warfare Under No Other Means (4:14)
03. Acid Attack The Nausea (3:50)

Nicole 12 - Substitute

>> Saturday, October 25, 2008

"If you're open to something extreme, disturbing, and genuine, give this a shot. It might make you think differently, it might make you sick, you might be offended, you might be excited, you might hate it, or maybe love it. I don't know how you'll react. I think the CD Insert says it best, "Due to the Unusual nature of this release it could be expected that some persons feel uncomfortable when hearing or reading the material. That's why they invented the Stop button to your CD player and possibility to re-sell/throw away records"."

Kylie Minoise - Psychedelic Satanism!

>> Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Really short and wild stuff from Kylie. First song reminds me of Masonnas sound a lot for some reason. The rest is somehow similar to the previous album we posted. So if you liked that one you'll like this one as well. Song titles are also X_x

Klee Knoy - Live At Dwight‏

In case you missed it. Klee Knoys from over at Static Collaborative three track improvisation he did with minimal gear. It's a running recording session type thing of totally live takes recorded straight to hard drive with no editing on a minimal setup. I'm running a chorus/echo combo pedal, a wha, and a BOSS distortion in various configurations with no mixer. The chain runs into a stereo cassette deck for easy sound leveling and then straight into my Mac. The setup is surprisingly fun to mess around with despite the lack of produceable sounds, but you'd be surprised with what you can get. So here it is three live takes. Super crunchy and muddy textures with nice ambient and droney passages plus tones of high end.

[C. T. D.]

>> Sunday, October 19, 2008

Project [C. T. D.] was created in 2008, influenced by japanoise artists, power electronics projects and some strange noises. They named their music End-Time Electronics. First cdr "Remains Of Deconstruction" limited to 26 copies is released on label Smell The Stench [Australia] and it contains only one long song "The Machine Is Bleeding To Death". Second cdr "First Harsh Work (Never Mind The Napalmed, Here's The [C. T. D.] Dedicated To MSBR)" limited to 70 copies, is also released on Smell The Stench and contains 5 songs. [C. T. D.] also appears on Split "We Dream Of Becoming Machines And Crushing Your Senses" along with Youth A.D. and Erekta. They were very kind and they sent us all of these releases for you people to check them out.

Remains Of Deconstruction

One long track of mostly wall noise with sound clips from various movies. Not very varied mostly minimal stuff but quite ok for a first release.

Tracklist:

01. The Machine Is Bleeding To Death (18:56)

Download.

First Harsh Work

Much more polished and thought out sound and a lot more harsher then the previous release. I especially enjoyed the second track filled with lots of oscillators and phasers (always loving those laser firing sounds xD). Each track has its own unique sound to it which I like a lot in noise.

Tracklist:

01. Part 1 (8:34)
02. Part 2 (9:24)
03. Part 3 (17:04)
04. Part 4 (8:59)
05. Part 5 (13:39)

Download.

We Dream Of Becoming Machines And Crushing Your Senses (3 way split with Youth A.D. and Erekta)

Really awesome 3 way split. C.T.D. work here is similar to the previous release while Youth A.D. has a much more minimalist and calmer approach. The most interesting track to me was Erektas track which is the last one on the split. Very weird and uncommon noise with vocals (actually spoken word, mostly nonsense xD) really great stuff.

Tracklist:

01. [C. T. D.] Highlines Of Destruction [First Harsh Improvisation] (22:31)
02. Youth A.D. Cloudhead (20:07)
03. Erekta 3A Name In Smoke (11:49)

Download.

Neutron Star

And finally my favorite album from these guys. Really awesome sounds of wall noise flowing through the tracks.

Tracklist:

01. Relativistic Jets (2:21)
02. Bipolar Outflow (North) (6:39)
03. Active Galactic Nuclei (5:38)
04. Supermassive Black Hole (13:42)
05. Bipolar Outflow (South) (6:57)
06. Magnetospheric Eternally Collapsing Object (18:06)

Mouthus - Saw A Halo

Sorry for the dry week I was busy failin' mah tests.

Mouthus best album in my opinion. The first track stands out a lot since it is completely different from anything else I have heard from Mouthus, acustic guitar and singing hmmm kinda reminds me of Death In June. :P Rest of the songs are noisy guitar "playing" with lots of effects sounds all over the place. Very good record.

Tracklist:

01. Your Far Church (4:48)
02. Armies Between (4:41)
03. The Driftless (6:46)

Merzbow & Porn - ...And The Devil Makes Three

>> Saturday, October 18, 2008

For their newest album, and the nascent release on Southern's brand new imprint Truth Cult, the intrepid low-end experimenters Porn enlist the help of Japanese noise demigod Masami Akita (aka MERZBOW). Collaborating across the album's twelve tracks, the fearless Masami layers scree and grafts gristle onto their already dense muscular creations - this is a marriage made in Blake's Heaven & Hell; their two uniquely singular approaches blending seamlessly to create a portentous hybrid beast of no equal.

H5N1 - Ovaj Demo Je Zaražen

>> Sunday, October 12, 2008

So a long time ago back in the first grade of high school me and some friends decided to form a band. The name we eventually picked after several hours of insulting and degrading each other was H5N1 because at that time the virus was popular and everyone was talking about it. So after the name we started to write lyrics. Me and Zmaj wrote a huge pile of lyrics for the band and the theme of lyrics; varied; a lot. Now that I look at it most songs were actually dadaist. We would just write whatever came to our mind and we invented a heap of pointlessly complex words that mean nothing. Anyway, time went on we were ready to have a rehearsal. The line up was something like this:

Sova - the guy responsible for recording
Roda - that would be me haha, I was on the guitar and amazing drum skillz on bonus songs
Tetrijeb - vocals/guitar and the main star of the night he now runs Cephalochromoscope :D
Golub - drums on most tracks
Kolibrić - flute and vocals on track 6.

High on morale and enthusiastic we marched into this cramped rehearsal room that was falling apart. Besides the lyrics everything else was improvised, riffs were thought out in a matter of minutes or seconds and the track length was never discussed. "Just play" was the main slogan and the resulting sound wasn't really what we expected but it was very fun and at the same time frustrating but overall it was a really great time. We had 3 rehearsals and then we decided that we should never play again and all that is left is this cd of collected songs. I decided to share this with you because practically what we did was non intentional noisecore or something along those lines. D:

The New Blockaders - Gesamtnichtswerk :20th Century Antiology: 1982-2002

"4CD set from legenary UK noise unit, The New Blockaders, whose hostile assault on music based on Dada/Anti-art ideas has spanned a 21 year career and has hugely influenced contemporaries such as Merzbow. 'Gesamtnichtswerk' - roughly translated as 'totalnothingwork' - contains their rare 1982 debut 'Changez Les Blockeurs', highlights from the series of gigs at Newcastle's Morden Tower, their 1991 'Simphonie' LP, a series of new recordings plus a few bonus reworked tracks."

Burning Star Core / Prurient - Ghosts Of Niagara

An lovely collection of 10 tapes which Hospital Productions limited to just 100 copies. There's no mention of it on HP site so I guess it's sold out. Anyway, I don't think this is some amazing, unchallenged and perfect work of noise (although the booklet looks really great) but nevertheless it's still an amazing piece of work. Seeing how Prurient is in this I expected some comfortable screaming and harsh pedaling but it's not really like that at all. Most songs are very atmospheric and not very wild so I guess BSC had much more influence in creating these songs. Not really what I thought it would be (Spencer playing the violin while the handsome Dominick screams something sexist) but still greatly enjoyable.

One of Australias finest, a duo playing some of the most crushing, subversive & compltetely oppressive music around. Also of note, no guitars are used, just a bass, drums, vocals and a sampler.

Kanin Krusete - Rebut de l'humanite

Interesting harsh noise I received last week to check out. The first song is possibly my favorite song from this release. It's harsh noise mixed with keyboards and some other mixed electronics. There are also some semi melodic parts that break the noise walls that span through the songs. All other songs basically have this droning layer (made by guitars perhaps?) with harsh noise going over it and it sounds very good. Limited to 50 copies.

The uploaded file has its tracklist unnamed but the actual tracklist is:

A1 Dejection (8:29)
A2 Curmudgeon (10:01)
A3 Headache (12:16)
B1 Delusions of grandeur (30:07)

The Sleep Sessions/Michelada - Damn Noisy Kids!!!

Great harsh noise stuff. Basically its just two songs but the Sleep Sessions stuff is split up into 4 parts. I like the Sleep Sessions more because it has more variety the Michelada side does not have a lot of variations which I (snob) enjoy hearing in harsh noise. Nevertheless the split is still great and definitely worth hearing. Limited to 30 copies, released on Le Pendu Records.

Frozen Corpse - Acid Bubble One

Found this tape accidentally somewhere in the depths of internets. The first track starts very calmly and silent and then gradually it becomes louder and louder eventually erupting into uncontrollable noise. The second one starts much more lively with some weird loops which last for about a half of the song and then it continues to make some weird sounds (sounds like some bent keyboard or something but I don't know) and then switches to more harsh noise. Weird lo-fi stuff check it out. :D

Aidan Baker & Tim Hecker - Fantasma Parastasie

>> Saturday, October 11, 2008

"This release, divided in eight movements, blends together to form a fluid example of a collaboration that works. Unlike those collaborations where artists throw some sound files back and forth via the internet, this release is the fruit of various real-time recording and mixing sessions the two artists worked on at Tim Hecker’s Montreal studio. The pieces on the record blend seamlessly into one another creating a deeper listening experience, as is the case on a number of Tim Hecker’s solo outings. While Baker and Hecker share a penchant for creating a powerful blend of ambient noise, “Fantasma Parastasie” finds the more dissonant elements tempered by an emphasis on ambience and even occasional melody."

Matt Henshaw - 320 & Hollow Stone Space

Quite good music from Matt Henshaw. His works are varied he does lots of different genres but he suggested these two releases for me to post here. The first one is called 320 which is an field recording. Judging from the cover photo I guess the field where it was recorded looked very nice. It's just one long song with lots of different sounds of mostly clicking and drumming with delay effects.

The other release is called Hollow Stone Space which is entirely different from 320. This one is guitar driven noise (or so it sounds) and later edited with programs.
